Lying on Tien river banks, My Tho town attracts tourist by these picturesque landscape of the floating houses, fishing farms, Rach Mieu brigde and the fours island (Dragon, Phoenix, Tortoise, Unicorn). A day trip to My Tho and Ben Tre assuredly give you many new experience of the Mekong Delta region. 

Itinerary: 

07.45 am, our tour guide and driver pick you up on request at your hotel that locates in backpacker areas (De Tham street, Bui Vien street, Pham Ngu Lao street) or  in Ben Thanh areas (Le Thanh Ton street, Thu Khoa Huan street, Ly Tu Trong street). Other places that are not mentioned kindly come to Daily Travel Vietnam office for joining the tour.

Depart from Ho Chi Minh city at 08.00am. It takes one hour and thirty minutes driving to get to My Tho town. On the way, tourists  will have chance to see these wonderful sights  along the road such as the green rice fields, the peaceful Vam Co Dong river and the busy Long An town. End route, our bus will stop at Mekong rest top  where you can take a rest and see bonsai garden.

Arrive in My Tho town,  visit Vinh Trang pagoda, an oldest ancient one in Southern Vietnam. It was known as  the largest pagoda and  the most special architecture in Mekong Delta. Its architecture was influenced by Vietnamese culture and Khmer’s culture as well as European’s architecture.

After paying a visit to Vinh Trang pagoda, our bus will take travellers  to the pier boat for getting on a motorbike boat. Take a leisurely boat ride in Tien river to enjoy fresh air , to see the peaceful life of the local people. Passing the stilt house, the fishing floating farm, the four Islands (Dragon, Phoenix, Tortoise, Unicorn).

After crossing Rach Mieu bridge, we disembark at Thoi Son Islet, which  is situated on Phoenix Island. Take a leisurely walking on the village paths, visit local people’s home, orchard garden and enjoy seasonal fruits while  listening to traditional Southern folk music.

Then visit honey bee farm and enjoy  delicious honey tea with lemon  that is really good for health. Local people also have python farm for those tourist, who like adventure can take a photo with pythons.

Take a hand – rowed sampan through the creeks for sightseeing the natural water coconut trees-a symbol in the Delta areas.

Come back to the motorbike boat then cruising to Ben Tre province, visit coconut candy workshop to know the way to  make tasty  candies by hand.

The impression  of the trip is to take a sightseeing through the  picturesque  villages by horse cart.

Then cruising to Unicorn Island to pay a visit  crocodile farm and visit the remains of Coconut belief.

Having lunch in orchard garden. Do not forget to taste dried Ear Elephant fish that is one of the  special dishes in Mekong Delta.

After  lunch, riding on bicycle across the village paths to enjoy the fresh air and  observe the pastoral life.

Then let’s take  a short walking across the narrow village path to the bus and return to Ho Chi Minh city.

Arrive to Ho Chi Minh city around 17.00. The tour ends at Daily Travel’s office.

Day 1 :  Hochiminh – My Tho – Ben Tre – Can Tho (L)

• At 8.00 am, leave Ho Chi Minh city, enjoy the scenic journey along the National Highway bordered by green rice fields. On arrival at My Tho, visit Vinh Trang pagoda, take a leisurely boat ride along the river, view stilt houses, fruit plantations and fishing villages along the river bank. Proceed to Tortoise islet


• Have lunch in the orchard garden. Then a boat ride to An Khanh – a less touristy attraction in Ben Tre, enjoy cruising on a hand-rowed sampan under the shade of water coconut trees along natural canals, then enjoy seasonal fruit & honey tea to the sound of "Southern Vietnamese folk music", performed by the locals. Visit a family business which epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle, taste delicious coconut candy & observe the pastoral life as you roam through the fruit plantations and villages. Proceed to Can Tho.

Day 2: Can Tho – Cai Rang floating market – Ho Chi Minh ( B/_/_ ) 

• After breakfast, take a leisurely boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong river (Bassac River), then proceed to visit Cai Răng floating market which are the liveliest in the whole religion. Have you ever tasted Vietnamese vermicelli soup? Well, now go and see how it is made. Then wander around the village and meet the friendly local people and experience how to cross a "Monkey bridge" which is built by only o­ne stem of bamboo. Visit theorchard garden.


• Stop for lunch. 


• Arrive to Ho Chi Minh city around 5.00pm.

• At 14.00, Leave Ho Chi Minh city, enjoy the scenic journey along the National Highway bordered by green rice fields. On arrival at My Tho, a leisurely boat ride along the river, view stilt houses, fruit plantations and fishing villages along the river bank. Enjoy cruising on a hand-rowed sampan under the shade of water coconut trees along natural canals.

• At nightfall we started out on an expedition to find fireflies. From a small dugout boat with rickety seats we paddled down canals lined with little shrubs where fireflies flickered in the night. Our guide had a special firefly net which consisted of a cloth bag attached to a bamboo pole and after some effort scooped fireflies off the leaves and into our hands. With stars sparking above, flashing bugs lighting up our fingers and frogs croaking nearby it was a night to remember.


• Return to Ho Chi Minh city by road.

Ho Chi Minh city cooking class tour

Every day, we have to eat. If you take great pleasure in cuisine, you have had lots of amazing Vietnamese foods. When you want to do something new, that’s where we are. We don’t try to serve you the best meal of your life at Cyclo Resto. But day by day, we try the best to bring full feeling of cuisine. Coming to us and self-cook with chef’s direction is the best way to get real experience.

• At 9.00 am: Meeting your chef at your hotel (locates in District 1). Transfer to a local market. Here you will have the opportunity to interact with the local sellers and learn about the ingredients to be used in the cooking lesson later. So make sure your camera is handy.


• 10.00: Continue to Cyclo resto cooking center. Welcome drink for a rest


• 10.15: Working together with the chef. Learn the traditional ways of preparing  and cooking Vietnamese food. The chef shows you how to cook.

• After the lesson, enjoy your self-prepared lunch.

Ho Chi Minh City Cyclo Tour

The Ho Chi Minh City excursion will take travelers around the biggest city of  Vietnam, from downtown city center to Chinatown. You will discover its history and culture with visits at the War Remnant Museum or History Museum and Thien Hau Temple. You will learn about the past as well as get a glimpse of the daily life of stall and street vendors at the Binh Tay Market in the Chinatown and learn the French colonial building of Notre Dame Cathedral, the Municipal Post Office.

Option 1: Saigon central cyclo trip

• We will pick you up at your hotel within hotels in district 1or district 3.


• Visit History Museum, City Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral for photos, Dong Khoi street (first street in Saigon), Old Market (first market in Saigon), Opera House. We continue to Giac Lam pagoda (Vietnamese style), Jade pagoda (Chinese style).


• Return to hotels, and end of  Ho Chi Minh City excursion.

Option 2:  Cyclo trip outside Saigon center

•  We will pick you up at  your hotel within hotels in district 1or district 3. Cyclo takes you to China Town to Thien Hau temple and Binh Tay Market. On the way you understand more about daily life of Saigonese. Along small street, we continue to Tan Thanh Market (only selling part of motorbike). It is the best way to see real activities of local people.

Can Gio is a low palm-fringed island sitting at the mouth of the Saigon River, some 25km southeast of Ho Chi Minh City. The mangroves forest in Can Gio possesses a high biodiversity with more than 200 species of fauna and 52 species of flora. The effects of the recent wars on these ecosystems have been devastating and large efforts have been made by local people to rehabilitate the mangroves.Today, it has become one of the most extensive sites of rehabilitated mangroves in the world. The island, which is at the intersection between the Saigon River and the sea, was created by silt washing downstream. It’s hard-packed mud rather than sandy beach, so attracts few visitors and the area remains entirely undeveloped.

• Depart at 8.00 am – Return around 17.30 to 18.00


• At 8.00am, depart for Can Gio, 60 km southeast of the center of Ho Chi Minh city.

• At 7.00 am, boarding on the Mekong Express bus to Phnom Penh via Moc Bai border. After check in the hotel and having a short rest. At 14.00, start your city tour by take a look into the country’s tragic recent history with a tour of Tuol Sleng Prison (S-21) and the Killing Fields at Choeng Ek, sobering reminders of the evils of the Khmer Rouge regime.


• Although not a joyful tour, visiting these monuments unlocks keys to understanding the development of this still developing country.

• Begin your tour at Cambodia’s Royal Palace, which stands majestically in the city centre just off the riverfront area. Several buildings are open to visitors including the ‘Silver Pagoda’ whose floor is lined with solid silver tiles.


• At the north end of the city is the hilltop pagoda of Wat Phnom, for which the capital was named. Climb the stairs to the top of the hill for fabulous views of the city below.


• Return your hotel at 11.30am.


• Free until 13.00pm, boarding on the  bus back to Ho Chi Minh city.


• The trip ends on arrival in Ho Chi Minh around 19.00.
